Words are not enough to express the kindness and care I received from Dr. Bernard Perez. I am an RN, Health coach who works in the hospital. And I had asked the physicians I work with who they use for their optimal vision. They told me "go to the Perez brothers ". I am grateful for this recommendation to this day.
Dr. Bernard Perez has examined my eyes to fit me with the best lens in contacts. This has benefited me to see far and near as an RN and figure skater.
Time was never a factor in his examination room as he educated me and exchanged glances to try to find the optimal power for my eyes.
I am now post-op from intraocular lens placement surgery related to cataracts. Dr. Bernard Perez displayed the essence of loving kindness in my care. My mother has scheduled an appointment that she has witnessed his passion and kindness Dr. Bernard Perez is a devoted physician and a healer who puts the patients needs first.
He is an earth angel.
Thank you for taking such great care of me.

Dr. Perez,

I was blind in one eye until I met you. Now I can see everything. My wish for Christmas was 20-20 vision,
and I have it because of you.
Thank you so much!

Love,
Nathaniel

Check back for a letter coming from her Mother explaining the story.

When a young patient heard that Dr. Ben was being treated for throat cancer she wrote him a letter...

Dear Dr. Ben

I’ll never forget the memorable night I experienced when A Frisbee hit my eyeball the night before Easter. When all other doctors refused to come in and see me when they heard about the incident, you did. Out of the kindness of your heart, you thought of me as one of your own children. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think about what you did for me you are my hero. Not just once did you save my eyesight, but you did on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, it’s your turn to be the patient as opposed to being the doctor. I have spent all of my life at the patient and you have inspired me to become a Doctor in the near future. As an experienced patient, know the doctors want to help you and keep a positive mind. It may seem that the doctors are putting you through the worst treatment possible, but they want to help. You will get better just give it time.

You are a very important person to me and when Dr. Don told me what was going on I was upset. I do not understand why God puts people with special hearts through such difficult times. My hypothesis is that he knows you have enough power and strength to overcome the high level of adversity. You are a wonderful Doctor with a great soul and the obstacles you go through for your patients are very generous. Your magical hands have saved hundreds. I know God has sent a special Doctor out there for you and you will be ok. You were my special Doctor that God made sure I had when I was in need, or in their words, my guardian angel. You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. With each passing treatment, know that you are getting closer to a full recovery, and back to your office to check on my eyes!
All my Love,
Katie

On April 12, 2016 , I EXPERIENCED A loss of vision in my right eye characterized by blurred vision, increased floaters and black, inky “snakes” moving through my vision. I was granted an emergency appointment at the Tampa VA Eye Clinic and after an examination, was told to come back in a week because there was too much blood to diagnose the problem.
My fiancé contacted Dr. Don Perez at the Perez Eye Center in Tampa and I was immediately taken in and my diagnosis was a vitreous hemorrhage caused by a retinal detachment. Dr. Perez explained that the condition could not be ignored and he operated very soon after my diagnosis and I slowly regained my vision in that eye. Today my vision has returned to normal and I am forever grateful for the doctors care and consideration.

Thank you Dr. Don Perez

I had problems in my left eye for more than 30 years. I have had some surgeries done in
Bulgaria, which is located in South East Europe. Since 2009, I have been almost blind in my left
eye and after a routine exam I was referred to Perez Eye Center. In 2015, I had a cataract
surgery which restored my vision from almost blind to the point that I can see the titles of
newspaper articles and even watch TV. I am thankful to Dr. Don and Dr. Bernard Perez for all
the care I received at Perez Eye Center. As a patient I was treated with respect and
consideration to my particular problem. In my visits to the Perez Eye Center I have become aware that they have implemented the latest technology in the ophthalmology field. I am a Balloon Artist and designer and my vision is very important to me because my visual perception is of a great significance to the success of my work. Thank you for everything Dr. Don and Dr. Bernard Perez and the staff at Perez Eye Center.

Respectfully,

I experienced trouble with my vision this summer and was recommended to visit the Perez Eye Center by Maggi, a leader in my daughter's Girl Scout troop.
I went in for an office visit with Dr. Perez thinking I had pink eye, but he informed me that I had an unusual amoeba infection caused by not changing my contact lenses and cases frequently enough.

I received excellent care from both Dr. Don Perez and Dr. Ben Perez and their office staff.
At one point they were seeing me daily. They even made a special trip to the office to review my progress in the middle of a storm and historic flooding in Tampa!

I myself work in the healthcare field as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and thanks to the treatment I received from Perez Eye Center I am able to continue my heavy work load.
A satisfied patient.

Dear Dr. Perez an office workers
I am very happy with my eye surgery. I feel much better than before. I'm happy that I see much better, everything is brighter and colorful. Thanks to your excellent job.

After the surgery I had no pain. Some of my friends said they had sharp pain after their surgery which was done somewhere else.
The whole process was excellent, precise and didn't take long.
I was very happy with all the treatment and surgery afterwards at your office and at the hospital. You have a great staff I am looking forward to my right eye surgery.

Thank you again I wish you and your staff a
very Merry Christmas and a happy new year

Sincerely,

Zoltan A.

Dear Doctor Don Perez,

I wanted to thank you for finding out what was wrong with my mother.
Not only did you figure out why she was seeing flashes of light, you also found a problem that she thought was never going to be figured out.
Her hands hurt all the time. So much and for so long that she had no choice but to learn to live with it.
While you were looking at her problem with her eyes you sat back and noticed her hands.
You said " How long have you had "rheumatoid arthritis" She said "I don't" You replied "Yes you do I see it in your hands. "
After that day she went to a specialist and was put on medication for rheumatoid arthritis.
Now she feels so much better and she keeps telling everyone of the wonderful doctor that fixed her.
Your attention to every detail and not rushing us through the appointment took away pain that she had for so long.
I can not thank you enough for that. No one likes to see their parents in pain.
In this day and age of people expecting everything at super speed it is hard to find a Doctor that will actually sit and spend time with their patients.
I am so glad that you still do that.
